Before serving Pitt students as the William Pitt Union, this historical building had served as the Hotel Schenley, which opened in 1898. In 1983, the WTW team renovated and restored the building to become the William Pitt Union.

Years of pollution had covered the Carnegie Library buildings in black soot and grime. In 2001, WTW was enlisted in the remarkable transformation that restored the buildings to their original light color.
WTW was honored to attend the University of Pittsburgh Victory Heights Celebration event with our partners from HNTB. The team is grateful to be part of the transformational Arena & Sports Performance Center project and to recognize the accomplishments of the Pitt team.
At WTW, our Library story begins with understanding how people use and connect in libraries. Understanding the wavelengths of connection allows us to utilize library programming in our projects to bring students and the campus community together through a multitude of features and spaces.
We are proud to announce that the Memorial Union at The University of North Dakota, designed by WTW, won a 2023 Facility Design Award from the Association of College Unions International during the conference. Thank you ACUI judges for the recognition, and thanks to our collaborators .
