We are proud to announce that the Memorial Union at The University of North Dakota, designed by WTW, won a 2023 Facility Design Award from the Association of College Unions International during their conference this week in Boston.
 
Thank you ACUI judges for the recognition, and thanks to our collaborators from JLG Architects, and the student leaders and staff at UND for being an integral part of the creation of this new union. The success of the building can be traced back to the engagement and input we received on campus during both the feasibility study and design process.
 
With the goal of improving student life through thoughtful design, the University of North Dakota envisioned a new Union. The 155,000 gsf facility is located within the campus historic district and serves as the new ‘front door’ of the university. The Memorial Union is a thriving hub on the UND campus, for the students and community alike. The unique and recognizable building serves as a new welcome mat for the university and offers a place of community that has never before existed on campus. It’s an integral part of the campus fabric and will serve students, staff, and visitors, for decades to come.
