Spurred by the efforts of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, a 12-block area in the central business district has undergone a transition to become the premiere location for arts-related facilities. The latest addition is Theater Square, which will provide a street-level central ticketing office and arts information center.
Just half a block from Pittsburgh’s PNC Park baseball park, this new 942-car parking structure contains 16,000 square feet of space for restaurants, sports bars, retail shops, or other similar uses. The retail space has 24-foot ceilings and 17-foot-wide sidewalks for outdoor cafes.
The façade of synthetic buff-colored stone was influenced by the exterior of the nearby Andy Warhol Museum. This fast-track project was completed in time for the home opener at PNC Park.
