The Steamfitters Local 449 Technical Training School challenged our team to create a new street front image, anchoring the corner of their campus with a new two story industrial imaged concrete block and metal façade addition, flanking an existing building, and aligning the rear of their complex with a new two story addition. The second story additions enabled a new metal façade and a perforated third story mechanical screen wall to compose a singular dynamic building image.
The facility engages the students, organizes the interior circulation spine on two levels, highlighting activities of the students with views into the second floor technical labs and showcases the energy of the welding labs and technical equipment instruction labs on the first level.
