The Philippine Nationality Room at the University of Pittsburgh is a testament to unity and dedication. Inspired by the bahay na bato architecture, the room celebrates diverse cultural influences. It features ancient artifacts, botanical paintings, and native alphabet images. Seals of the oldest universities adorn mahogany chalkboard covers, honoring knowledge. The design concepts process included a trip to the Philippines and working on the design with Popi Laudico, who led the Basis of Design criteria. The room stands as a living tribute to the Philippines’ rich heritage and collaborative spirit.
Over 15 years, the WTW team guided the Philippine community organizations through planning, design, and fundraising. Working in step with Nationality Rooms Director, Maxine Bruhns, WTW also helped create the Ad Hoc Committee and guided the formation of the Permanent Classroom Committee
