Peters Township, Community Recreation Center

The Community Center is a 37,000-square-foot facility located in Peterswood Park adjacent to recreation fields and Arrowhead Trail. The facility includes an outdoor multipurpose court for basketball, soccer and deck hockey, and a new softball field.

The Center also has two multi-purpose spaces with two full-size basketball courts and an elevated running/walking track.  The space is organized for volleyball and four 70’x50’ half courts.  The multi-purpose spaces are designed to accommodate performances, dances, and other community activities.

The facility features three meeting rooms with folding partitions to accommodate large groups, fitness/aerobics and activity rooms, and administration offices. To assist the township in staffing for the Community Center, there was a large focus on designing the welcome desk to have visibility of all entrances to allow one person to be able to staff it at a time. 

The restrooms, storage and concession areas are designed for indoor and outdoor access to support outdoor activities as well. The facility was also designed with two accessible entires to eliminate the need for an elevator.
