Increased focus on health and wellness as well as growing athletic programs provided the motivation for Penn State to expand the Capital Union Building to support a growing student population. Expansive glass walls flood the exercise areas with daylight and afford views of the campus while providing an inviting showcase of the activities and energy of the center.
The fitness/wellness center provides circuit training, selectorized and cardio-vascular equipment, and free weights for the complete workout. Athletic team locker rooms, team support spaces, coaches and officials offices/ locker rooms, and laundry for this growing NCAA Division III program are provided on the lower level.
The existing center’s meeting rooms, large multipurpose room, main campus gymnasium, exercise studios, courts, aquatics center, lounges and administrative areas were renovated as well.
