WTW is working on a state-of-the-art arena and sports performance center for the University of Pittsburgh. The ASPC will provide Pitt with a national-caliber competition and training facility. The facility will help the University continue to recruit and train top-tier athletes for success in the sports programs of the Atlantic Coast Conference. This project is part of the University’s Victory Heights master plan which will include other sports. facilities
The ASPC project includes a 3,500-seat competition arena for Volleyball, Wrestling, and Gymnastics. The sports performance center portion of the project includes training space, locker rooms, and administrative offices. The sports performance center will also serve the strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports medicine, and mental well-being needs of other athletic programs beyond those that train and compete in the facility. Upon completion, 16 of Pitt’s 19 intercollegiate athletic programs will utilize the facility's amenities.
In addition, the unique rooftop green space will provide a gathering space with incredible views for all Pitt students especially those living in the student housing located immediately adjacent to the site. This project is currently under construction and estimated to be completed in Fall 2025.
The project is being done in collaboration with HNTB.
