Exterior improvements include updating the façade, new roof insulation, energy-efficient windows, and creating new entrances. To make Ingomar fully accessible, universal design techniques were utilized throughout.

Construction began in May of 2004 and was completed in August of 2005. Using phasing techniques, interruption to the educational process during construction was minimized.
